The Web Design Process

At Input-Output Unlimited, Inc., we've established a design process that allows for the maximum amount of flexibility and creativity. The key to making the best websites is making sure the client is happy every step of the way.

The design process is broken into three stages:

Site Layout and Artwork

An initial layout for the website is created in Adobe Photoshop, a graphic production program. The site is designed exactly the way it will look once it's programmed and finished, but it's done as artwork. This distinction is vital.

We don't program a website until the site layout and artwork is approved. On the chance that changes are required, it's easier (and cost effective) for us to edit artwork before coding than later down the design path.

Not only are we keeping the project's budget low, we're also providing the client with the opportunity to have some say in the look of the site. It's a chance to make the site perfect for the needs of the business.

Web Programming

Once the artwork and layout are approved, the site is coded. The designers at Input-Output Unlimited, Inc. code by hand, without the use of "plug and chug" website making programs. Those kinds of programs (which other, less professional firms use) add lines of useless code. Coding by hand streamlines the site code, makes it lighter and easier to work with, and ensures it will work for the most amount of browsers.

What's more, all sites designed by Input-Output Unlimited, Inc. meet the international web-standards for accessibility, as set down by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium). Additionally, sites are approved by the Society of Information Systems Security Professionals (SISSP). These standards ensure that all our sites are top-of-the-line.
